The Title of this document is one of the most asked questions of me by the callers on America Online as well as different boards that I frequent. I would assume that this has to do with the fact that I set up both the TeleFinder and FirstClass SIG's (Special Interest Groups) on AOL, or the simple fact that I run both systems from my home on the same computer.
I would like to start out by stating that the contents of this document are conclusions on my part and therefore are subject to all of my biases, inconsistencies and personal experiences. I will however try to remain within the realm of reality as I report on the above two programs. Some thing's that I say may be open to interpretation (I will make note on these assertions for you) and some thing's I may be flat wrong on, though I will try to stick with just what I know or have experienced and if I need to venture beyond that I will let the reader know this as well.
One thing that all BBS's (Bulletin Board System's) have in common is the delivery of information to the caller. This can be in the form of email, software transfers or announcements. Where the BBS software differs is in the way this information is presented and this will be the context from which this is written.
In the following chapters I will be providing screen shots from both TeleFinder and FirstClass to demonstrate some of the points that I will be trying to make. At this time it might be wise to provide you with the pertinent information regarding both software's and there authors.
